On Saturday, August 18th, URBAN-15 will host a novel, fun, scrumptious summer event called “BACON BACON BACON.” Featuring talented chefs who have prepared their best bacon-inspired dishes for sale, this fundraiser will take place at Big Hops Brewery from 7-10pm.
We will be offering whimsical bacon samplers at $5 per item, along with a special, custom-printed URBAN-15 pilsner glass for $15, which includes one delicious Big Hops beer of your choice. Admission to the event itself is free of charge. Participating chefs include:
Michael Sohocki and Andreas Imhof of Restaurant Gwendolyn, serving a candied bacon-wrapped chile filled with homemade cream cheese
Destiny Aponte of It’s Destiny Catering, serving a bourbon pecan tartlet with chunky peach sauce and candied bacon streusel, plus sweet potato biscuits with chicken fried bacon and country bacon fat gravy
Laurel Bodinus, serving cake with marzipan bacon decorations
Carnaval de San Anto, serving bacon-wrapped fruits and other delectables
All proceeds from BBB will support the continued renovation of URBAN-15’s Center for Celebration Arts and the youth and senior arts programming it serves.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to meet our neighbors, for the wider community to learn more about what URBAN-15 does as a community-based arts organization, and to sample some toothsome bacon recipes by talented culinary artists. Please stop by!
