Join URBAN-15 during National Poetry Month for the 2015 Mega Corazon poetry performance and live broadcast!

In celebration of National Poetry Month, URBAN-15 is proud to present the 2015 Mega Corazon, a six-hour event featuring San Antonio’s premier Performance Poets on Thursday, April 30th. This event, with a live studio audience, will be sent to friends of poetry throughout San Antonio, the country, and the globe via our live-streaming video system!

Among this year’s featured poets are the 2012-14 San Antonio Poet Laureate, Carmen Tafolla, Lahab Assef Al-Jundi, Gregg Barrios, Nephtali Deleon, Amanda Flores, Anthony “The Poet Flores, Fernando Flores, Eduardo Garza, Bryce Milligan, Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson, Carmen Tafolla, Juan Tejeda, Natalia Trevino, Eddie Vega and more!

San Antonio is a city of stories. For over 300 years we have been telling ourselves who we are through verse, dance, theater, and art. Now, with the power of streaming technology, Mega Corazon presents fifteen of our most renowned poets who excel in bringing spoken word to life in vibrant performance—often mixing English and Spanish in code-switching bravado. Some will intersperse spoken word with music performances.

Mega Corazon celebrates an essential fact about poetry—Poetry is about heart, as well as truth-telling, community, words released into beautiful motion, the color, courage and timbre of all our diverse voices.  Hear San Antonio!  For six hours, San Antonio’s rhythmic and pulsated voice, its rainbow of life, will connect to a world-wide, cross-platform Arts community.
